The Presenters

Dan Paccioretti

Dan Paccioretti, MSc Aud(C), is the Western Canada FM Sales Manager for Phonak. He has more than 27 years experience as an audiologist working in hospitals, public health clinics and schools. He has provided hearing related services and developed programs for deaf and hard of hearing individuals of all ages with a special focus on children and older adults. Dan coordinated the development of the first cochlear implant program in the province of Alberta in 1986 at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton. In 1991 he moved to Vancouver and served for 13 years as the Clinical Supervisor for the Community Audiology Centre where he also conducted research into the use of headset FM systems for children. Before joining Phonak Canada in May of 2006 Dan was the Senior Audiologist for the BC Ministry of Education Provincial Resource Program - Cochlear Implants where he developed outreach services for students with cochlear implants.

Brent Wildeman

Brent Wildeman, BC-HIS, is the Western Canada Sales Representative for Phonak. He has over 10 years of experience as a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist. Before joining Phonak Canada in July of 2008 he worked as a hearing aid dispenser providing hearing testing and fitting services as well as counseling hard of hearing adults. Brent was also involved in the development of a clinical practice management software program for the hearing industry.

  • November 2008 - Stacie Tidlund, graduate of the Disability Studies program at Mount Royal College, spoke about her CHHA-Calgary sponsored practicum in Malaysia working with people with hearing loss.
  • October 2008 - Stephen McKibbon, SeniorConnect Coordinator and services provided by Calgary Senior's Resource Society
  • September 2008 - CHHA-Calgary members who attended the Canadian Hard of Hearing / International Federation of Hard of Hearing Congress held in Vancouver this summer presented information from the workshops they attended. The Congress attracted speakers and delegates from around the world and focused on hearing loss management in other countries.
