Dr. Carrie Scarff is a researcher and private practice Doctor of Audiology for patients with hearing loss in Calgary. She completes research in association with the University of Calgary scientists as well as international hearing aid manufacturers. She graduated from Dalhousie University in 2000 where she completed her Audiology degree followed by completing a PhD in auditory science which she completed in 2005 at the University of Calgary under the supervision of Dr. Jos Eggermont. Her training has included research and clinical internships at Georgetown University Medical Clinic and the Nova Scotia Speech and Hearing Clinic. Dr. Scarff's interests include assessing new devices for helping individuals with hearing loss, brain plasticity associated with hearing loss, and instituting universal infant newborn hearing assessment in Alberta. She will be discussing the state of hearing loss research and activities in Alberta.

- November 2008 - Stacie Tidlund, graduate of the Disability Studies program at Mount Royal College, spoke about her CHHA-Calgary sponsored practicum in Malaysia working with people with hearing loss.
- October 2008 - Stephen McKibbon, SeniorConnect Coordinator and services provided by Calgary Senior's Resource Society
- September 2008 - CHHA-Calgary members who attended the Canadian Hard of Hearing / International Federation of Hard of Hearing Congress held in Vancouver this summer presented information from the workshops they attended. The Congress attracted speakers and delegates from around the world and focused on hearing loss management in other countries.
